From Thursday 4th of June – Saturday June 6th a team of us bagpacked at Dunnes Stores, The Swan Centre, Rathmines, in order to fundraise for Camara Africa 09 project. A group of friends from work joined me on a very wet Saturday morning to help out. The response we got from customers was very positive and hugely encouraging. My friends were great in engaging with people about the work of Camara and in expertly packing bags and trolleys to meet customers diverse needs and systems! A huge thanks to them for all their hard work and good humour!

In the afternoon other members of the team travelling to Lesotho, some of whom had also bag packed on Thursday and Friday, joined in. We finished around 7pm, tired but happy, having met and conversed with many interesting people, raised awareness about the work of Camara and collected a lot of funds for Africa 09! Thanks to the staff at Dunnes for their friendliness and patience and to the customers for their generosity in supporting Camara. A total of €2224.77 was raised over the 3 days – a fantastic contribution to our work in Africa this summer.
