Last week Camara received their first in-country donation of computers for reuse in schools. UNICEF at their offices in Mbuya, Uganda donated 31 Toshiba lap-tops to Camara’s Service Centre in Kimpala. This is a key event for Camara. Receiving computers within a country is a very effective approach to computer reuse. The transport logistics are much easier to manage, and the computers can be dbanned, reloaded with software, and ready for re-use within a very short time-span. It also promotes Camara’s sustainability model as all the processing and distribution is carried out locally.
The UNICEF computers are on their way to Camara’s Fort Portal hub, and will be ready for reuse in local schools very shortly. Camara wish to Thank UNICEF for this donation and look forward to working closely with them in the future.
