Padraig at the summit!

It’s the New Year. Want to get fit ? and take on a challenge ? That’s just what Pádraig Ó Murchú did when he decided to set himself the challenge of climbing Kiliminjaro and in the process raise funds for Camara. Pádraig and a small group of friends decided to take on this challenge so on 19th Oct 2010 they set out to Tanzania via London to begin their adventure. It took 24hrs to get there and all were exhausted even before they climbed a single step. Their ascent began on Day 3 and finally four days later at 11:00 am on 26th Oct, Pádraig reached the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African continent at 5895m and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. What a fantastic achievement and well done to all.  Pádraig kindly nominated Camara as his charity for the challenge, and as a result he recently presented us with the generous amount of €1,400.  We really appreciate this support and Thanks so much. If you wish to be inspired read Pádraig’s superb log KILIMANJARO SUMMIT TREK

So now are you up to the challenge ?  could we get a Camara Team together to repeat Pádraig’s achievements ? If you are interested in taking this challenge on and raising funds for Camara Please contact (01) 6522670 for further information.

Thanks again Pádraig and well done!
