Vodafone Ireland changed out 118 laptops in November and donated them to Camara for reuse.  This will result in 2,500 children from disadvantaged communities becoming digitally literate.  Camara Education (www.camara.org), a charity and social enterprise whose mission is to enhance the educational system by using Irish technology resources have provided digital literacy skills to 500,000 people from disadvantaged communities in Ireland, Africa and Jamaica.  Thanks to Vodafone Ireland’s donation of laptops, another 2,500 children will become digitally literate. Donagh Healy, Vodafone CIO said, “It makes great sense to have our laptops reused especially if it helps to improve the livelihood skills of the poorest and gives them a stronger platform to break free from poverty”.
