The project, which began in August and is due to run for five years, will provide 10,500 people in Haiti with access to ICT and an improved quality of education. Camara’s experience in using technology to transform education in disadvantaged communities, coupled with Haven’s local knowledge and expertise in community development in Haiti, will help ensure a positive impact.

The first of the new centres was opened on 3rd September in Ecole Le Bon Semeu. Speaking at the opening, Gladys Thomas, who owns the organisation which runs the schools and orphanage said:

“Today we have a computer lab…which will help the children with their education, their upbringing and their future. I don’t have enough words to thank you.”  Ms Thomas referred to the new eLearning centre as “one of the greatest achievements I have had in the past 30 years.”
