Camara Ethiopia was re-established in 2011 and is hosted at the Government institute, The Centre of Educational ICT (CEICT). The Governments commitment to ICT as a precursor to development was made clear in 2011 when an agreement was signed between the Government’s Education Department and Camara. This was a major breakthrough, Camara being the first Social Enterprise Model to be given legal status in the country. The rollout of E-Learning Centres is now well under way with Addis Ababa and Amhara regions the first to receive computers. We have some busy times ahead but are looking forward to the challenge.
