Chief Executive Officer
Julia joined Camara Tanzania in 2015 as the Project Manager for iKnowledge, a project funded by the UK Space Agency to put Internet, hardware and training into over 250 schools across 25 regions of the country. In 2016 Julia was then appointed to CEO of Camara Tanzania. Julia holds qualifications in Development, Political Science, and International Business. Her professional experiences include project planning and implementation, management coaching, and consulting in both the private and non-profit sector.
Benedict began with Camara in November 2012 as Camara Tanzania’s first trainer in Tanzania and help in establishment of Camara training here in Tanzania. A year later, he was promoted to Technical Director. In 2017 Benedict was again promoted, to the position of Operations Manager and oversees both the Education and Technical departments. Benedict holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering & I.T.
Sales & Marketing Manager
Adam Kawa joined Camara Tanzania in May 2017 as Sales & Marketing Manager. He has a extensive experience in working with multinational organisations in the function of Sales, Marketing, and commercial and public relations. His previous experience was with dangote cement Tanzania, Pernod Ricard Kenya, Diageo, Zantel & Tanzania Breweries Ltd. Adam holds an MBA Marketing from University of Birmingham in United Kingdom.
Accounts and Administrative Manager
Alleta joined Camara Education Tanzania in June 2016 on a 6 months contract with the iKnowledge Project, and was later offered an extension contract in 2017. Alleta has over 5 years working experience in the field of finance and accounting. She holds a BA(Hons) in Finance, Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham.
Monitoring & Evaluation and Training Officer
Romwald first joined Camara as a volunteer in 2012. Later in 2014, he joined the team as a Vetting and Technical officer, and was responsible with providing technical advice to schools on setting up computer labs, and providing basic computer training to teachers. In 2017 Romwald transitioned to the position of Monitoring & Evaluation and Training Officer where he is responsible for creating M&E tools, monitoring the organization’s impact, and conducting teacher training. Romwald holds a bachelor degree in heritage management and tourism.
Technical Officer & Store Keeper
Michael joined Camara in 2013 as a volunteer in the Technical department. He then left Camara to attend college in 2014, then joined the team again in 2015 September as a technical officer on the iKnowledge project . In January 2017 Michael joined the full-time CTZ team as a Technical Officer and Store Keeper, where he manages all Camara’s hardware dispatches and is involved in installations, technical support and maintenance at schools. Michael holds a diploma in Hardware and Networking tools .
Education & Training Officer
Godfrey joined Camara Tanzania in March 2014 as a volunteer. In June 2015 he was promoted to the full time position of Training and Technical officer. Godfrey not only conducts installations, but also designs and carries out teacher training programs. He has travelled across Tanzania for Camara Tanzania assisting with lab installations and training hundreds of teachers. Godfrey is motivated by technology in education and is very passionate about helping others. Godfrey holds a Bachelor Degree of Computer Science.
Siraji Omari Chiwaula
Siraji began with Camara in November 2013 as Volunteer. Six months later in 2014 he joined the team as Technical Officer, where he is responsible for dispatching and installing computers to schools. Siraji also provides technical support to schools after lab installations, maintenance services, computer networking, and coaches staff on technical skills inhouse. Siraji holds a Diploma and B.Sc. in Computer Science.
Celina began as a volunteer admin assistant, before joining full time staff in June 2015. Celina is now the Camara Tanzania Secretary and is currently working towards obtaining her Professional Secretary Diploma.

Global Education Manager (CEL)
Mathieu has worked in international educational development in Central America, Caribbean, Africa and Europe for the past six years focusing on teaching and learning practices. He completed a Masters in Science Education at Universite Laval in Canada with a focus on cross-disciplinary framework for studying different forms of human practices as development processes, both individual and social levels interlinked at the same time. His academic background and personal interest have led him to work in a variety of sectors including science teaching, ICT in education, education policies and policy analysis. Mathieu joined Camara in 2015 and oversees the education and training programmes. He works together with the CEL Education Department and the Camara Africa Centre Team in designing and implementing the educational programmes and supporting all the education teams across our network.
Technical Director (CAC)
Farid Ali is the Technical Director for Camara Africa Centre and is based in Mombasa, Kenya. He was amongst the first volunteers to join Camara Education in 2005. He is very experienced and has spent a lot of time on the ground working for Camara. Farid Ali assisted in setting up the education hubs in Kenya (Mombasa and Lamu), Rwanda, Lesotho, Uganda and Zambia and is responsible for bringing the level of all the education hubs in Africa to the same standard.
Head of Africa Operations (CAC)
Lotta joined Camara Education as the Africa Operations Manager in 2015 and now oversees Camara Education’s operations in Africa. She supports the hubs and hub CEOs on a daily basis, together with the Camara Africa Centre team. She has worked in international development in southern and eastern Africa for a number of years, and has experience in a variety of sectors including , enterprise and business development, agricultural and environment. She is an experienced project planner and manager, and has experience as a technical adviser in mainstreaming gender, issues of social development and climate sustainability.
Lotta’s academic background is in social sciences and international development but she also has more than ten years experience in sales and marketing and customer service roles in the private sector.
Standard and Compliance Specialist
Yared joined Camara’s Team in January 2015 and is Camara Ethiopia’s Country Director. Prior to joining Camara, Yared worked for Accenture Consulting for 5 years in the US before he packed his belongings moved to Ethiopia to work in the area of ICT in Education. Since then, Yared has worked as an ICT Consultant for Ministry of Education and has also served as an ICT Director of Dire Dawa University. Yared is passionate about transforming the delivery and quality of Education through ICT. He has a BSc in Informatics and is a Masters candidate in Management and Leadership.
Cynthia Ouna Mwaniki
Regional Finance Specialist
Cynthia started as a volunteer in the year 2012 and attained a training course on ICT Basic. Prior to becoming Regional Finance Specialist, she worked as a Deputy Sales Manager at Camara Education Mombasa, marketing Camara Education Kenya to schools, institutions and colleges across the country.
iMlango 2 Project Manager, Kenya
Leticia is a competent personable and committed education specialist and youth development professional with excellent communication skills, fluency in English and outstanding facilitation skills and capability to work in a fast paced challenging environment. Leticia is well versed in and acquired fifteen years’ hands-on experience in education; ten teaching English Language and Literature in English in secondary school in Kenya and five providing technical expertise in education management and program design and implementation in Non-Governmental Organisation setting. In her last assignment, she worked with CARE International Somalia as the Education Adviser. She has a Master of Education Degree in Education Planning and Administration from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Leticia joined Camara Education Limited in July, 2017 as the iMlango 2 Project Manager and is based in Mombasa, Kenya.
iKnowledge 2 Project Manager, Tanzania
Bringing into the team institutional knowledge from serving as the iKnowledge Project Coordinator 2016 for Phase 1, Mwilu currently serves as the Project Manager for Phase 2.Having served as the Country Manager for The New Global Project, an action research and innovation project led by a multidisciplinary research team from Aalto University in Finland, Ms Kibbassa was institutional in establishing and leading the Tanzanian project operation amidst linking various stakeholders, an area that she is most competent in. Mwilu brings to the project her expertise in working with and managing different stakeholders such as government sectors, education sectors, donors and private sector. Not only multi stakeholder management, but her tact in managing high level projects and managing people makes her one of the most valuable assets in the team.
Mwilu holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Tampere University of Applied Science in Finland and a Masters degree in Ecotechnology and Sustainable development from Mid Sweden University in Sweden.
