Many thanks to all of the volunteers who turned up on Thursday morning to help load a container destined for schools in Zambia. We managed to squeeze 212 computers with monitors, keyboards and mice, 30 sets of speakers, 12 printers and 6 flat screen monitors.
The flat screen monitors are invaluable in many of the remote parts of Zambia as they use less electricity than the CRT (TV shaped) monitors.
This shipment also contained six “Rory boxes”, which include spare monitors, keyboards, mice, video cards, memory, sound cards, mouse mats, monitor stands and USB keys.
If you have any USB keys that you would like to recycle, please drop them down to our workshops in either Dublin or Belfast. They are great way of sharing information and allowing students to save their homework for another day.
