Jacinta is originally from Co. Clare in Ireland, but has been living for the past several years in Haiti, volunteering with NPH Haiti as a special needs educator at Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs (a Camara lab school). Prior to that she was a special needs educator at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos in the Dominican Republic. Before moving to the Caribbean, Jacinta was one of four teachers who opened and developed Gaelcholáiste Reachrann into a successful All-Irish secondary school,.
Working side-by-side with the Salesienne Sisters who are the principal educators at NPFS orphanage has given Jacinta a deep insight into the Haitian Education System and the great need for development which presently hinders economic and social progress in Haiti. Jacinta will utilize her extensive background and insight to develop Camara Haiti into a sustainable educational hub that will hopefully play a significant role in transforming education for one of the most disadvantaged countries in the world.
