Mikiyas Woldeyesus
Mikiyas Woldeyesus is the country director for Camara Education Ethiopia. Mikiyas has been with Camara Ethiopia for over 13 years, leading the EdTech projects in various roles. Prior to joining Camara, Mikiyas worked as a program coordinator at various organizations. He has a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in educational leadership and management from Addis Ababa University. He joined Camara because he believes that integrating technology in teaching and learning can improve education quality, accessibility, and equity in disadvantaged communities across the country.
Yohannes Debele
Yohannes is the Finance and Administrative Manager at Camara Education Ethiopia. Yohannes is a finance and administration expert with over 14 years of experience in the accounting sector. After graduating from Arba Minch University in 2009, he began his career as an auditor in different audit firms. In 2013, Yohannes joined Camara Ethiopia as Finance Assistant Manager and has since been promoted to Finance and Administrative Manager. In his role, he oversees financial operations and administration, contributing to the organisation’s mission to improve access to quality education through technology in Ethiopia.
Mikias Ephrem
Mikias Ephrem is programme operations manager at Camara Education Ethiopia. Mikias began his career as a software developer at Camara in 2015, and quickly advanced to key positions, including Lead System and Software Engineer for Camara Africa Hubs. He has worked extensively with all of our African hubs to implement new technologies and build the capacity of our local staff. Mikias has a degree in computer science and an MA in project management. Additionally, he has completed several courses including the design and development of digital skills training programmes, and impact evaluation & monitoring using automated usage tracking systems.
Bereket Alemayehu
Bereket Alemayehu is Technical Manager at Camara Education Ethiopia. Bereket began his career as a volunteer in 2012 before joining Camara Education Ethiopia as a Technical Intern in 2013 and quickly advanced to become the Technical Manager of the Organization. He has worked extensively with HQ in shipment planning & paperworks. Bereket received a BSc in Computer Science from Dire Dawa University in 2013 and an MA in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University in 2021. He has also successfully completed several additional courses like Cisco A+ basic maintenance, Project Management & Leadership. Bereket is one of the long-serving employees in Camara Education Ethiopia, working for more than 11 years.
Amanuale Mebratu
Amanuel Mebratu is the EdTech Specialist at Camara Education. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Dire Dawa University in Ethiopia and joined Camara in 2017. Currently, he oversees the design, development, and implementation of educational technology products. Amanuel has been recognized twice with the Employee of the Year award and received a fully funded scholarship from the Irish Government through the Ireland Fellows Programme. He has recently completed his master’s degree in data science/AI in Ireland, at Southeast Technological University.
Asnake Yilma
Asnake Yilma is a Curriculum Specialist at Camara Education Ethiopia. With over 25 years of extensive experience in teaching, he previously worked as a Mathematics and Physics Teacher, Computer Instructor, Department Head, Unit Leader, and Director in various national and international schools. He was also a lecturer in private colleges.
Asnake joined Camara Education in 2017 as a Curriculum Specialist. He oversees the mapping, curation, and alignment of digital educational content with local curricula, and also trains teachers on how to develop and use curriculum-aligned digital educational contents to aid teaching and learning. Asnake is proud of his role at Camara, which aims to make Education more accessible and equitable for those who need it most.
Natnael Zenebe
Natnael Zenebe is the Technical and Training Coordinator at Camara Education Ethiopia. Natnael Zenebe began his journey with Camara Education Ethiopia as a Technical Support Officer and was one of the volunteers when the organization launched its operations in the country in 2011. With an MA in Project Management, Natnael has continuously expanded his expertise through various academic and professional courses from institutions like Addis Ababa University and Admas University. His specialized training includes Data Management and Analysis using SPSS, CCNA certification, Introduction to Packet Tracer, SQL Fundamentals, and Tiny Machine Learning.
In his role as Technical and Training Coordinator, Natnael oversees and conducts teacher training programmes. He oversees the installation of Digital Learning Centers, development of educational content, and coordinates the provision of technical and educational support to schools.
Sewit Kebede
Sewit Kebede is the Senior Communications Officer at Camara Education Ethiopia. Sewit holds a BA in Journalism and Communications from Addis Ababa University and brings over ten years of experience in Marketing, Communications, and Media, reflecting her exceptional contributions to the organization.
In her current role, Sewit ensures that Camara Education’s mission and impact are effectively communicated. Additionally, Sewit plays a key role in developing communication strategies that support the organization’s objectives and enhance its presence in the education sector. Her expertise in managing public relations, digital media, and strategic messaging continues to drive the organization’s success in reaching its audience and achieving its goals.
