Johnstone Muchiri

Country Director (Kenya)

Johnstone is enthusiastic about technology and its application in improving educational outcomes and skill development. Prior to joining CEK in June 2024, he was the Managing Director at RizikiSkills (2021-2024), an EdTech accelerating professional development for African professionals; Program Manager at Strathmore University Business School (Financial Journalism Training Program supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies & Ford Foundation in Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, and Tanzania, 2019-2020); and Regional Manager at Squid Kenya (iMlango Project, 2014-2018), an FCDO-funded project where Camara Education was one of the partners, among others. Johnstone holds a Master of Science in Project Management. He loves chess and is a self-taught web developer.

Technical Officer

James has over 11 years of experience in IT systems management, technical support and networking, and supporting teachers to integrate technology in education. He is passionate about problem-solving and innovation. James is currently providing technical support to STEM STEPS Project schools in Makueni County. He enjoys cycling during his free time.

Technical Officer

Peter has served at Camara Education Kenya since 2014. He takes fun at diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. He strives to keep up with technology and best practices, enabling him to deliver effective and innovative support to schools and educational institutions. Peter is currently providing technical support to STEM STEPS Project schools in Kilifi County.

Technical Manager

With more than 11 years at Camara Education Kenya, Job currently leads the technical operations, making sure that all IT hardware, software, and infrastructure run well within Camara Kenya schools. As a functional leader, he’s passionate about mentoring and developing junior technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. Job enjoys forming friendships, going on adventures, and coming up with novel ideas.

Finance and Administration Executive

Lynn has enjoyed every bit of her 12-year’ journey at Camara Education Kenya. She currently oversees the finance and administration operations across Kenya and Tanzania, providing support to various departments to ensure country objectives are met. Before taking on her current role, she served as a Trainer and Finance Assistant within Camara Kenya. Keen on her professional development, Lynn is currently pursuing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification. Outside work, she enjoys travelling, reading, and cooking, all of which inspire her creative and thoughtful approach to life.

Teddy Gwadiva Angayu

Technical Officer

Within Camara Education Kenya, Teddy is best known for his passion for empowering young people with 21st century digital skills under the internship program where they are trained on vital skills, including lab network setup & configuration, software installation & administration, PC/laptop repair/fix & troubleshooting, etc. Outside work, Teddy enjoys reading and watching football and is a big supporter of Manchester United.

Ali is driven by a strong commitment and passion for education technology. The opportunity to work on different roles with different teams has made his 10 years at Camara Kenya an enriching experience. He’s currently providing technical support to STEM STEPS Project schools in Kajiado County.

Magdaline Makumi

Digital Skills Officer

Magadline first joined Camara Education Kenya as an intern and thereafter volunteered to support the mission and improve on her technical skills. She would later join the team as a Technical Associate, a role she held for six months before being promoted to a Digital Skills Officer. Magdaline works with the technical team to ensure schools establish and run successful ICT Clubs that provide students with the opportunity to learn digital skills like coding, web development, and graphic design, among others. She looks forward to making an even greater contribution to ensure disadvantaged students are empowered to learn and succeed.
