Dayani Mbowe

Technical Director of Camara Education and Country Manager at Camara Education Tanzania

Dayani M. Mbowe is the Country Manager for Camara Education Tanzania, a position he has held since 2019, and has served as the Technical Lead for Camara Education since 2021. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam (2020), a Certificate of Law Enforcement from Moshi Police Academy (2012), and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Dodoma (2012). Dayani’s career includes roles as a Computer Specialist for the Tanzania Police Force and several key positions at Camara Education Tanzania, such as Tech & Training Officer, Project Coordinator, and Tech Sales Manager.

 

Also to his professional roles, Dayani serves on the boards of Lyra in Africa and the Tanzania Education Network (TEN). He has been involved in significant edtech and research projects, such as iKnowledge, a digital learning project for 300 students, and a £1 million Botnar Foundation grant addressing adolescent mental health in Tanzania and Vietnam. Dayani is also involved in the Discover Learning Project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has presented at international workshops and conferences, including events led by ODI and UC Berkeley.

Asia Bonanga

Programme Lead Officer at Camara Education Tanzania

Asia Bonanga serves as a Program Officer at Camara Education Tanzania, where she has led several impactful projects, including the Kit Kit project, ICT Club, Lernel, Kenerly, and a mental health project funded by ODI. With a background in Mass Communication, Asia has shaped and overseen initiatives that not only elevate the quality of education but also foster environments where students embrace technology. In addition to her project leadership, she manages Camara Education Tanzania’s social media, promoting the organisation’s mission and achievements.

Asia believes in the transformative power of technology in education and has harnessed the strength of teamwork to create lasting change. Her dedication to advancing education is unwavering, and she envisions a world where learning is boundless, particularly through the dynamic realm of EdTech. Through her work, Asia continues to contribute to the advancement of quality education, driving innovation and empowering students and educators alike.

Godfrey Ezekiel is an accomplished Operations Manager at Camara Education Tanzania, where he has been a dynamic professional since 2014. With a degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Finance Management, he seamlessly integrates his technical expertise with a commitment to transformative education.

 In his role, Godfrey coordinates ICT solutions that empower both educators and students, working closely with institutions and stakeholders to bridge the digital divide and enhance learning opportunities. His strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and dedication to equitable education have earned him respect within the industry. Outside of work, Godfrey continues to be at the forefront of educational technology, embodying visionary leadership at the intersection of technology and education.

Rashid Chambo has been a pivotal figure at Camara Education Tanzania since 2022, where he excels as a Technical and Trainer at Camara Education Tanzania, His work revolves around setting up Computer labs in schools, ensuring that students and teachers have access to modern digital tools that enhance learning. Rashid not only oversees the computer installation and maintenance of these labs but also provides hands-on training for teachers and students, equipping them with the technical skills necessary for today’s digital age.

 His role ensures that all technical resources are efficiently managed and readily available to support the organisation’s mission of enhancing education through technology.  His efforts have significantly improved the efficiency of store operations, contributing to the successful deployment of technology labs in various educational institutions, inspired by the potential of well-managed resources to transform classrooms.

Imelda Raphael is a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Administrative Officer with over four years of experience at Camara Education Tanzania. A graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam with a degree in Education,

Since joining Camara Education Tanzania, Imelda has contributed significantly in various capacities, including serving as an Impact and Learning Officer and supporting administrative operations. Her dual role has allowed her to develop a well-rounded understanding of programmatic evaluation and the organisational support necessary to drive educational initiatives.

Imelda has worked on various programs and projects supporting EdTech for youth within the organization, including the Youth Digital Program, ICT Clubs in schools, and the Mental Health Project.
